Mohammad Mehdi Imani-Pour, head of the Organisation for Culture and Islamic Communications, once again propagated hatred against the LGBT+ community at the International Cultural Summit held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on November 25 and 26.<\/p>\n

\u00a0He claimed that the United States and the West aim to dismantle the institution of “family” by promoting “gender identity freedom,” “identity freedom,” and “promotion of homosexuality” which he deemed as\u00a0 immoral and anti-natural.<\/span><\/p>\n

For years, both Russia and the Islamic Republic have exploited people\u2019s human rights. They have formed an alliance based on promoting hate speech and violence against the LGBT+ community and seek to advance this\u00a0 in international affairs. Russia is one of the countries that provides no anti-discrimination support for LGBT+ individuals and has not considered any legal measures for crimes based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The organisation of such sessions under titles like “strengthening relations” and “cultural enrichment” indicate how the LGBT+ community remains at risk and insecure in countries like Russia and Iran.<\/span><\/p>\n
