It spans across more than 110 networkers, the majority of whom are based in Iran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u200eHighlighting the fact that Iranian lesbian and transgender individuals are the most \u200emarginalised within the already marginalised LGBTI community, 6Rang has set its mission to raise awareness on sexual rights, and eradicate homophobia, transphobia and \u200eviolence against lesbian and transgender people, in particular, and the LGBT community, in general, and aims to achieve this through collaborative networks, media campaigns, research, documentation, and sharing information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u200eIn addition to filling a major gap on issues faced by lesbian and transgender individuals, such as \u200eforced marriage and compulsory hijab, 6Rang works with the Farsi-speaking media to raise \u200eawareness from a lesbian and transgender \u200eperspective. \u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">6Rang is proud to have established its one-on-one online counselling service for lesbian and transgender people in Iran, where due to criminalisation of homosexuality and medicalisation of transgenderism, they are deprived of essential affirmative medical and counselling services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among other major successes of Iranian Lesbian and Transgender Nework is the introducing of new faces of Iranian lesbian and transgender activists. 6Rang strives to offer its \u200enetwork platform for activism; for its members to be more than a proud lesbian or transgender: to be a proud \u200eactivist.\u200e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2012-2015, 6Rang conducted its first research project entitled \u2018No to Forced Sex Change\u2019 in \u200ecollaboration with Justice for Iran (JFI), which incorporated more than 100 in-depth interviews \u200ewith members of Iranian LGBT community, that resulted in an English research report.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On June 26, 2014, in a historic occasion, a coalition of Iranian LGBT rights activists, human \u200erights campaigners and refugees, joined a Istanbul LGBT pride to launch the report \u2018Pathologizing \u200eIdentities, Paralyzing Bodies: Human Rights Violations against Lesbian, Gay and Transgender \u200ePeople in Iran\u2019 [1]. The report by 6Rang, analyses the abusive practices through a human rights \u200eframework by placing them in the wider context of violence and discrimination that shapes the \u200elives of sexual and gender minorities in Iran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The findings of this ground-breaking report have had a huge impact in the international \u200ecommunity as well as in Iran.
